Dan Kuthy commented on Anne-Catherine Dargis's blog post 'NABCEP Adds 259 New Certified PV Installers™'
I agree. Trust and education are two of the major barriers that slow the adoption of residential PV. I'm glad that NABCEP is working to develop a "brand" that consumers can trust but it's also important that installers see the…

SEPA Releases Top Ten Utility Rankings

SEPA (Solar Electric Power Association) has released its annual Top Ten Utility Solar Ranking, one of it's most important studies of the year. The top utilities have expanded solar integration by 66% over the last year, growing from 169MW to 279MW solar megawatts added to the grid. The study gives credit to both the largest overall solar megawatts, and solar watts per customer to give smaller utilities a chance to compete. See the full report…See More

As an experienced installer of solar PV and electrical systems in general I have to say that the NABCEP test that I sat for does not address the most critical knowledge components required for NEC code approved installations. It does cover OSHA…

PACE Bond Knowledge Bomb!

One of our new favorite incentives for clean energy here at PVPower is the Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) bond. The innovative new way to finance distributed generation projects is likely going to transform the way we think about clean energy retrofits. So what is a PACE bond and how does it work?Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) legislation allows local governments to finance energy efficient retrofits to existing homes and commercial properties by leveraging property taxes. The…See More

A Secretive Mega-Investor

The New York Times brings us this great article on a champion of solar investments, the "Unsung Sun King". David Geldbaum has invested over $500 million in green companies since 2002 via his Quercus Trust. He is involved in over 40 businesses in all aspects of green business, and has roughly another $500 million invested in green causes. And what makes him so impressive is that barely anyone has ever hear of him. Intensely private, many of his investments include confidentiality agreements to…See More

Hey Anne Catherine!
(kinda miss the US too :) )
Dans l'attente de te lire,
Best Regards
David
